Nominations for the ‘RAFTTAAR General Manager of the Year Awards 2027’ were accepted across the following sub-categories:

Eligibility Criteria for the Nomination:

• The award for the ‘General Manager of the Year’ will be conferred upon an individual who has measurable results in two main categories:
  • I. Operational Strengths
  • II. People Skills
• The nominated General Manager should have completed a minimum of 12 months in the current role and hotel, as on 31^st January 2027, and should have been with the operating company for a minimum of 24 months.
• The nomination will be judged on the basis of complete citations supported by examples, facts and supporting documents provided by the nominee.

Nomination Process:

• All nominations will be accepted through completion of the nomination form, duly submitted via email to hicsa@hotelivate.com or neham@hotelivate.com

• All forms must be submitted latest by 15^th February 2027

Selection Process:

• All completed and eligible nomination forms will be assessed on the basis of quantifiable information provided by the nominee, and the scores will be allocated under the following two categories:

• The shortlisting process will then include assigning of scores based on available information provided in the nomination form.
• A final weighted average score will be derived to identify the top four scoring nominees across each hotel segment. Please note that Hotelivate has the ability to verify the authenticity of all data provided using market information and analytics knowledge.
• The shortlisted nominees will then be a part of an in-person discussion with the independent jury.
• The jury will then select the winner across each hotel category.
• The winners will be announced on 8^th April 2027 as part of the conference programme.

The top two finalists across categories will be required to be present at the venue.

The HICSA Hotels of the Year Awards presented by MakeMyTrip were instituted to honour and recognise the most outstanding hotel developments in the previous year in South Asia. Having received accolades and building upon the resounding success of the investiture ceremonies, we are pleased to announce the HICSA Hotels of the Year Awards – 2027, presented by MakeMyTrip. The awards have over the past ten years grown from strength to strength and now encompass a wide range of accommodation products across the lodging industry. Since its inception, more than 500 hotels have been nominated in various categories.

This year we invited nominations for the following seven categories:

Eligibility Criteria for the Nomination:

• Hotels opened in the South Asian Region
• Property should be newly built and should have commenced operations between 1 December 2025 and 30 November 2026.

Judging Process

Short-listing will be initiated by an independent panel comprising key industry leaders. Entries from each category will be presented to all HICSA attendees for an electronic voting procedure. The winners will be announced on 7^th April 2027 as part of the conference programme.
